In 2016, Oregonians Working With Energy Trust Saved $396 Million

Last year, we connected 80,600 homeowners, renters, businesses, factories and farms with smart energy choices that lowered energy use, boosted local economies and improved environmental health.

In 2016, we:

  • Delivered more electric and natural gas savings than in any other year—at a fraction of the cost utilities would otherwise pay to buy energy from other sources
  • Engaged builders to complete more than 400 energy-efficient new commercial and major renovation projects and 3,300 high-efficiency new homes
  • Helped install more than 4.6 million LEDs and 4,000 residential smart thermostats
  • Installed more standard solar capacity and generation in 2016 than ever before, with support for a record 1,200 customer-owned residential solar systems
  • Met every Oregon Public Utility Commission performance measure, including receiving an unmodified financial opinion from an independent auditor
  • Expanded outreach to smaller cities, rural communities, those with moderate incomes and Oregon’s increasingly diverse population
