OSEIA Board Member Appointment

Thank you OSEIA members!  Shannon Souza is honored and pleased to have been elected onto the Board of Directors for OSEIA.  The Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association is a trade association founded in 1981 to promote clean, renewable, solar technologies. OSEIA members include businesses, non-profit groups, government agencies, and other solar industry stakeholders.  Their mission is to make solar energy a significant energy source and expand markets by strengthening the industry and developing a skilled and stable workforce

In light of our workforce availability constrictions in the industry, Shannon is looking forward to continuing to identify collaborative solutions that can help to address both the workforce shortage and the rural poverty crisis facing Oregon.

Since 2015 she has been an active proponent for the inclusion of renewables plus storage as a viable and essential element of our community resiliency planning, particularly in rural communities hit first and hardest by climate change and least likely to receive timely support in the event of a catastrophe.  She views her election to the OSEIA board as a valuable platform for raising this critical opportunity to the levels required for action.   She is also proud to enhance the industry’s recognition and support of small, independent companies in rural communities across the region.
